It all started with “ o’ nonn Salvatore” (the grandfather) in the 40’s who wanted to bring some happiness to Neapolitans in time of war. He set his workshop in the center of Naples experimenting with new recipes for nougats and candies.
Soon his candies became loved by the locals encouraging him to continue. The story has it that he went on to produce chocolate and confetti as inspired by American soldiers during their stay in Naples.
This tradition was handed down to his daughter Rosa and her husband Giuseppe. Rosa and Giuseppe further perfected the recipes expanding the production and selling all over the South Italy. It was their son Vincenzo that united all of these efforts creating Papillon and distributing the products all over Italy.
The confectionery tradition is at its 4th generation with Giuseppe and Rosa Junior. Giuseppe is taking his family company to the next level due to his international education and experience. Continuous focus on quality and new market trends allow us to supply prestigious clients all over the world.
